Read the e-invoice you received
Open a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X hybrid PDF, or XRechnung, Peppol or NLCIUS XML. Counthall shows the sender, amount, VAT treatment, due date and invoice lines. It checks supported fields and totals and can compare the IBAN with earlier invoices you filed.
Compare bank details
Counthall warns when an IBAN differs from earlier filed invoices for that supplier. It also checks IBAN check digits. Confirm unexpected changes through a separate channel; these checks do not authenticate a supplier or detect every fraud.
Export the recipient’s requested format
ZUGFeRD / Factur-X, XRechnung in UBL or CII, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. NLCIUS is exported too: enter the Dutch client's KvK or OIN number and buyer reference with the client. Choose the format your recipient requests and save it with that client. Counthall exports a Peppol-format file. Delivery over the Peppol network uses your own access-point provider. Ask the recipient or provider how to submit the file.
Find the field to correct
A finding names its rule, business term and field. For example, BR-DE-15 points to a missing buyer reference on an XRechnung. Add the reference supplied by the buyer and run the check again. The compliance check identifies supported field, arithmetic and format problems. It cannot establish that an invoice is genuine, that the underlying transaction is correct, or that a recipient will accept it.
Turn your hours into an invoice
Start and stop a timer or enter hours manually. Clients and projects carry their hourly rates into invoice lines. The urencriterium report includes direct and indirect hours and exports a PDF hours log.
Create a client invoice
Generate numbered invoices from your recorded hours, show the VAT scheme you selected and export a plain PDF or structured e-invoice. Domestic VAT, reverse-charge and small-business settings are available. Check that your selected scheme fits the transaction.
See what is still owed
The invoice list shows the outstanding total and which invoices are past their due date. For an overdue invoice, Counthall drafts a polite payment reminder in the invoice's language and hands it to your own mail app with the PDF. Issued invoices carry a SEPA payment QR code that banking apps scan.
Correct with a credit note, hand over to DATEV
An issued invoice is reversed with a credit note under the next number, never deleted, and exports as an e-invoice like any other. For a German tax adviser, Counthall exports your invoices and credit notes as a DATEV Buchungsstapel. Check the first import with your adviser.
Quotes and recurring invoices
A quote gets its own number series, a PDF with its validity date and one step that turns it into an invoice once the client accepts. Recurring invoices arrive as drafts on their date, so you check each one before you issue it.
Part payments and bank files
Record a deposit or a part payment and the invoice shows what is still open. A bank statement file (CAMT.053 or CSV) is matched to open invoices, and nothing is recorded until you confirm it. Notices can add the statutory interest of your country.
Receipts into your VAT overview
Photograph a receipt and Counthall reads the supplier, date, amounts and VAT on the device for you to check. The input VAT counts toward the VAT overview for that period, and the image stays with the record.
Invoice lines from your voice or a photo
Say or photograph the positions, such as three hours of advice at 85 euros, and they become draft lines with quantity, unit and price. A line Counthall cannot read with certainty is left out, never guessed.
France, other currencies and Switzerland
Factur-X France adds what the French e-invoicing reform asks for, such as the SIREN and the invoicing frame. An invoice in another currency also states its VAT in euro, and a Swiss or Liechtenstein account adds the Swiss QR-bill.
Peppol lookup and your own access point
Check whether a client is registered in the Peppol Directory, then send a Peppol export by mail to the access point you contracted. Counthall is not an access point itself. Your details and clients can come from earlier e-invoices or a CSV list.
The timer on your home screen and wrist
A widget shows the running timer. On iPhone it also appears on the Lock Screen and an Apple Watch app starts and stops it; on Android a notification carries the clock and a Stop button.
Check your retention archive
It stores exported and filed documents with retention dates and hash links. Its integrity check detects mismatches against those stored links. It does not guarantee legal retention, prevent every alteration or replace a backup.
Check backup and restore status
On iOS, records sync through your own iCloud account and the backup screen checks reachability and restore status. On Android, export a backup file; Counthall reads it back and compares the decoded records, including the archive. Keep that file somewhere you can access after losing the device.
Put your brand on the PDF
Use a photo to add your logo and brand details on iOS, or select a logo with Android’s photo picker. The invoice body stays black on white.
